Our Approach
Relevance
ADYN is dedicated to staying current on the changing needs of the youth and community. We design interventions that are aligned with the organizational objectives of our partners.
Results
ADYN is focused on delivering the objectives of our programs. Every activity is purposefully designed to create positive learning outcomes and impact for our community.
Relationship
ADYN is committed to building and fostering sustained and quality relationships with partners who desire to invest in the lives of young people.
Parent-Student Engagement
Students and families must be informed and engaged in the creative and transformative process of changing their learning communities into places that advance student achievement, particularly within the African diaspora, by supporting a historical and cultural curriculum of the African diaspora.
When students and parents see the direct benefits of culturally relevant education to their communities, they are more likely to be willing (and long-term) participants in the academic, social, and civic leadership development within the classroom and in their communities.
ADYN places the African diaspora family experience at the center of the curriculum. By requiring active parental participation, ADYN delivers engaging and advocacy-driven programming to parents and families of students through workshops, trainings, and service learning opportunities.

Involve
ADYN ensures that our programs are effective in engaging the dynamic youths of today. We accomplish that by structuring
meaningful learning activities, facilitating authentic learning
experiences, and promoting the application of learning.
Illuminate
ADYN enhances the intellectual and creative development of our youth. We achieve that by strengthening their foundation, challenging their mindsets, incorporating their families, and shaping their worldview.
Inspire
ADYN commits to helping our youth grow in character, rise above their challenges, and pursue solutions to issues impacting their communities. We speak encouragement into the lives of youth and inspire them to have a vision for their future.

Our Impact
Voices Straight from our Diaspora Youth
"My mother works for a non-profit that provides help to legal immigrants who are not able to speak English very well, so I understand the meaning and importance of public service. I would like to be more of service not only to my current community both in and out of school but also to people who are less fortunate. " - college sophomore
"I am not exactly sure what steps I need to take in order to accomplish that goal but I believe that becoming part of ADYN will provide me with the information that I desire to better prepare me to be a stronger support system for many others. I think that is what public service stands for - learning how to use your skills and talents to make others better. My parents expect a lot from me. My little sister looks up to me." -- college freshman
My teachers see tremendous potential in me. My high school counselor nominated me for the program. I have a lot of responsibility to give of myself to others because only then will I be able to better serve the communities who continue to give me so much." -- 11th grader
